Hot Dogs for Thanksgiving

Apologies for not writing sooner. Life has been crazy as usual but with nothing super exciting. Just a lot of exams and busy work for my classes. Since finals are approaching, I need to buckle down on my schoolwork and stop procrastinating (which I am very good at).

So what’s new with me? Let’s see.  Well the last month I studied for the GRE and took it the day after thanksgiving. I only scored 1 point higher on the verbal section. Of all the words I slaved over, I only saw one on the exam. I had a feeling that is how it would go but I wasn’t expecting it to be as bad as it was. I refuse to take the exam again and I’m content with my scores. Words of wisdom, study early and study often, read a lot of newspapers and magazines (Like the New Yorker) and don’t expect to know every word.

Being home was nice. I enjoyed having company on the ride back for once. Brian and his girlfriend Rachel both drove back to Cleveland with me since Brian lives about 15 minutes from my house. I missed my cuddly dog and his goofy little butt. He’s so good. I just can’t get over it.

Thanksgiving was interesting. We had hotdogs for lunch and played cards for 8 hours straight.  This isn’t usually how Thanksgiving goes but my brother has a girlfriend, finally, and we wanted to include her in our holiday so we moved it to Friday so she could join us. I think it was easier for my mom to have everyone that day but we want Sarah, my brother’s girlfriend, to feel special so we just keep telling her it was for her.

I went on a few very nice dates at home. My best friend and I went on an un-double date. Since we aren’t actually dating, it had to be an undate with my brother. We had a good time as usual. He’s a great guy.  I also went out on Lake Erie at night in a boat and looked at the stars and the skyline with another friend. It was beautiful. Afterwards, we went to Rocky River Brewing Company for dinner and a drink. Great food. I’ll be going back there for sure.

Other than that, life has been fairly quiet. No new love interests. School is coming to an end and I’m getting ready to jet off around the country again. It’s so close, I can’t even believe it! Less than two months and I’ll be sitting in Ireland somewhere probably having a pint and listening to some traditional Irish music with my new friends.
