So i’m going to jump back in time a little bit, because I’ve realized that thinking about my trip to Paris has eclipsed my thoughts of other things I’ve been doing that are also very exciting.
I’ve been seeing more plays, which is almost always an amazing experience. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was performed at the Lyric Hammersmith theater and it was very contemporary, comedic, and creative. I’ve seen A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed before at least four other times by different groups of professional and amateur theater actors. I have to say this was the best performance I have seen of it.
We also went to see the House of Bernarda Alba. This play was also well done, I think, and had an interesting critique of Iranian culture and the restraint women face in their everyday life.
I also was very excited that I was able to meet up with two of my European friends that I had not seen for a while. My Dutch friend, Ivo, came to visit London with his girlfriend and stopped by to say hello while they were here. We had some tea and scones together and then went out to explore Camden Town, which is an extremely touristy place.
I also briefly had the chance to meet up with my French friend, Amandine. We talked for an hour or so meeting up at Picadilly Circus before I had to go back to my place to finish up some homework.
