I will not think about my to-do list. I will not. I won’t. If I don’t acknowledge it, it can’t exist.
See, it’s been a crazy weekend.
Sorry for taking a while to post, but this weekend was as non-stop as you get on campus. My friend Nicole came to visit and we ended up doing all of the things. The main highlight was probably taking her to Philly one night. We parked right outside the Magic Gardens, which is an art exhibit made out of recycled materials. It looks absolutely fantastic. Here’s a picture of the top view, from the parking lot across the street:

And of course, it was just as great inside.

I’ve been here about four or five times, and each time feels slightly different from the last. You never take the same pictures, and you never see things from the same angles. Every snapshot is completely unique to the time, the place, the person.
Granted, these are only partially my thoughts. They mostly came from the creator himself. Who just so happened to be hanging out in the gardens with his dog on the day we stopped by! So we got to stay around and chat with him and it was just amazing to hear how long it took and see how much he loves it there.
The Honors Program, in all its greatness, offers a free trip to the Magic Gardens later this year, which I will definitely be taking. I haven’t gotten to do any Honors classes this semester, and I miss the feel of being in an honors environment. Or maybe I just miss the honors directors, Bill and Helene, some of the sweetest professors ever. Hopefully I’ll get to see them again on the next honors trip!
My roommate has actually been really involved in the program since starting last semester. She and I always make it a big point to discuss with my Day on Campus students. This past weekend, she went to SEPCHE, which is a local conference for all sorts of speakers. She had the opportunity to present on the importance of leadership and her honors class, and she just loved it. I wish I could’ve gone to see her, but it seemed like she had an exhausting day without me standing on the sidelines with a big poster declaring my love for her. May not have been totally appropriate.
Honestly though, I’m amazed she made it through this weekend too! Between taking Nicole to the Magic Gardens, and all the other cute shops on South Street, and then the waterfront, and then the Hunger Games later that night, it’s amazing that we survived. Though my other personal highlight for the week may have been finally getting my dress for Cotillion! Pictures will be provided of course. Though I should first buy tickets! Yes, first things first. You can see how I get lost without to-do lists, right?
Nope, not thinking about it,
Laura
