Rome is a fantastic city to visit, learn from, and learn about. You will never lack on educational resources–this city is bursting with monuments and museums. For those who want to know what’s happening today in Rome though–it’s a bit trickier. It’s easy to forget that this is a modern European capital, because by the time you realize something awesome is in town, it’s already over.
Especially in the first few months. Especially when Italian isn’t your first language. Especially when your local knowledge is minimal.
So, how do you take advantage? By checking out these two awesome websites: www.younginrome.com and www.buzzinrome.com. They update daily, they provide English translations of all major and minor events.
I just discovered them last week. My semester would have been x100 more awesome if I had known about them in January instead of April. So, whenever you travel, search long and hard through the blogosphere–you’ll never know what good resources will pop up.
