On Monday January 23rd 2012, Arcadia University held the official opening and dedication ceremony of The Commons, its new state-of-the-art building designed as a meeting place for staff and students. Arcadia University’s President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III hosted the event, which was also addressed via video link by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, who spoke warmly of the significance of The Commons and the achievements of the University.
Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr. also attended the dedication ceremony and in his key note speech he highlighted the great work and success of Arcadia University and The College of Global Studies in the discipline of international education.
“The College of Global Studies is the gold standard with regard to national and international education. And that reputation is known throughout the country and throughout the world,” said Senator Casey.
As part of The College of Global Studies, it was especially great to have our resident directors, Tina Rocchio in Rome and Alper Camci in Istanbul, contribute to the ceremony via high definition video conferencing along with the Executive Committee of Arcadia University Alumni Club in Singapore.
